First Board Meeting Today…

The start of something new and very beneficial in my life.  I participated in my first non-profit board meeting today for the North Carolina Council on Economic Education.  The NCCEE is an organization whose mission is to ensure that all students in North Carolina develop economic understanding and abilities to solve problems in their lives as consumers, savers, investors, employees, employers, citizens and participants in a global economy.  This is quite a daunting task, but one that is to be commended and the current and past board members are on the right track to promoting economic education in NC.  We had a good meeting today (my first meeting as a board member) in which we spoke about many different topics from the Stock Market Game to fundraising to teaching NC Civics & Economics teachers about the economy and financial literacy.  This is a topic that I am sure I will write about more in the future as it will be the primary non-profit that I focus my free-time efforts on.
