Introducing the StockShack

Kicking off September 5th StockShack will begin publishing it’s commentary for Saturday morning reading. Our commentary will focus on 3 ½ major areas:

1.  The overall market and economy – what happened in the market and economy that week and its affect on the major market themes,

2.  Medium-term 401(k) trades – changes/exchanges we are making between funds offered in the 401(k) we are responsible (allowed 4 changes/exchanges per year),

3.  Weekly stock trades – positions we are entering into Monday morning for our goal of 8-10% short-term gain,

3½.  Plus, condescending and sarcastic remarks about anything we find Unworthy.

Why are we setting up our commentary this way?

Our commentary is for people busy with their jobs, family and other activities. The onslaught of stock trading shows and websites are challenging to follow and trade along side of unless you are blindly squinting at stock tickers all day.  We believe markets are affected by a few major themes that move them in medium term trends lasting 3 to 9 months. This allows us to position 401(k) accounts appropriately as well as hold individual stocks without constant trading.

Our commentary will hopefully provide helpful information for people who want to stay informed and at a pace that fits their lives. Our commentary is for people running a nice paced marathon who know with some management they can increase the performance of their investments over the buy-and-hold mentality. This is not for people sprinting marathons high on Red Bull and Pixy Stix.

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend!
