WeeklyStockShackers – StockShackers are stocks that meet weekly requirements based on technical analysis based proprietary scans. We use weekly indicators because we are focused on people with busy lives. Our goal is to return a 10% gain within 1 week (5 trading days). Our StockShackers are for people using small amounts of capital; $2,000, $5,000 or maybe up to $10,000. We do not suggest StockShackers for people positioning large accounts.

We are kind of like the challenged version of Dave Matthews that appeared in the “Half-Wit” episode of House in 2007. We may do one thing really well but may struggle greatly with the rest.

If you decide StockShackers are appropriate for you, we make one suggestion. We set these trades up, so the buy orders may be input anytime before the market opens at 9:30 AM EST Monday morning. Meaning, as an example, you can set up the buy order Sunday night after the kids go to bed and be prepared.  

Do not forget though, a sell order MUST then be entered AFTER the stock is purchased. So before you leave for lunch check to see if the buy order was executed and then place a SELL LIMIT order at Friday’s close plus 10% (broker/transaction fees will be subtracted from any gain which is $5-$15 per transaction for most online brokers).

We use buy orders called BUY LIMIT. BUY LIMIT orders will not allow your broker to pay more than the price you define. Quick example: Friday’s close was $5.00 and the BUY LIMIT order is $5.00. If the stock opens at $4.50, we buy the stock at $4.50. If it opens at $5.00, we buy at $5.00. If it opens at $5.05 and trades above $5.05 for the rest of the day, we do not buy any stock. Different brokers may offer different order options.

Remember, there are opportunities everyday and every week in the market. But we must be disciplined to consistently generate cash.
